NO HD????
This company was started over 120 years ago in Kyoto, Japan, by Fusajiro Uamauchi (the great-grandfather of current Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi) the business made and sold Japanese-style Hanafuda playing cards, which are smaller and thicker than Western playing cards and often include elaborate pictures like those on the faces of Tarot cards. This company entered the gaming industry over 24 years ago with innovative ideas and top-notch technology. The release of Wii in the current industry owns 48.7% of the current gaming console markets.
The Wii system has inferior graphics and inferior online ability technology based, the system is inferior. The Wii’s success was not focused on the core gamer. The systems innovative control style and creative games is the key to the success of this system. The management style of Nintendo continues to focus on what made them a recent success, ignoring the core gamers in the market. Nintendo recently announced that they would not release a system that supports HD. I understand that Nintendo feels it does not need the support of the core gamers to be successful. However I feel the management needs to understand the current changing technology.
I as a gamer appreciate everything Nintendo has done for this industry and I understand their different way of thinking. I would be horned to work for a company that isn’t shy about thinking different and succeeding with a different view. I feel this company needs to stay centered and understand that there are many key parts in producing a successful gaming experience. Game-play I feel Nintendo has a good grasp on however Graphics is a important part in that experience as well. How many of us played great games on older consoles? Why are we not currently playing them now? Technology is important to all gamers proven in the recent sales numbers. The sales numbers of consoles as of September show the PS3 outselling the Wii and success of the other two consoles continue to grow as the price of technology becomes more affordable. I purchased a Wii upon first release like I do every system. I consider myself a core gamer, following the industry with every new release and playing anything I can get my hands on. I found the Wii fun at first, something to entertain when company is around. Over the past two years I found myself playing it less and less, the graphics were not as good as on other systems the controls for me were easier on the other systems. I simply enjoy the other systems more. With this announcement of Nintendo not supporting HD makes me step back as a consumer and see that this company is not on the same page as the gaming industry. Which in the past has given them success; however if they choose to continue to ignore simple technology I fear the glory days of Nintendo will end.
